Life Coaching

Where wisdom Comes Quietly

Working with the Enneagram empowers individuals to take responsibility for their own behaviours and growth, from a greater understanding of why they act and react the way they do

Background

As basis of life coaching, the Enneagram archetypal framework is used. The focus of the coaching is on personal development and growth. The Enneagram is a useful tool for understanding both the “upside” and “downside” of our personality styles.

The need of most individuals who enrol for life coaching has a desire for deeper self-knowledge, self-development and growth. The specific need of every individual is considered as the basis of the coaching.

“As mission it is my passion to touch people’s lives in a positive way by leading them on the great journey of life by gaining insight wisdom and self-actualisation in their personal life and careers.”

Testimonials

“A good leader should do anything possible to grow and develop to be the best version they can be for their team. Insight into your attributes, personality, style, and abilities can assist any leader to grow – no matter in what stage of your career you find yourself in. Enneagram is not just another leadership or self-development programme. It is an opportunity to do self-assessment, to find out where you are in your career, where you have grown and where you are still slacking. It puts the emphasis on you and your style but also on how you can support and empower your team. It allows to you to have an honest look at yourself and to admit to your strong points but also your weaknesses. The coaching is non-judgemental process and serves as a sound board to hear your own voice, to help you come up with practical solutions that suits your organisation and team. Self-awareness is one of the keys to success and as you get older or advance in your career, your wants, needs and dream change but so does the environment in which we operate. I did the Enneagram as part of my MBA studies and I will recommend it to anyone who needs to pause, assess themselves, and to come up with a new game plan or just to polish your existing game plan.”

“I Anthea Gaanakgomo, attended the above this year with Dr Scholtz. This is one of the most important projects that I personally think that this was the best thing to bring onto the MBA program for us students. It helped us in so many ways possible. It assisted one to work out strategies to handle pressure, stress, workload and other personal issues. Dr Scholtz helped one to put aside ones emotions and look at life in a different way to handle anything possible.

I discovered so much about myself, my capabilities, strength and character through this project. It also revamped my Emotional Intelligence, Stress Management and conflict management skills with the help of Dr Scholtz. One could go back and apply most of the things learned from Dr Scholtz. I went back after every session with Dr Scholtz and applied everything I’ve learned during the sessions. It has helped me personally as an MBA student, a working class and as a parent.

I would like to show and express my gratitude towards individuals like Dr Scholtz who helped so many of us during this year and I can speak on behalf of my 2 group members with whom I’ve shared with what this project meant to me and the way Dr Scholtz conducted and handled it.

This is a person who has a passion for what she does and she considers the humankind so much.

Thank you Dr Jordaan for brining this project into the MBA program to help individuals like myself.”

“The MBA II Coaching with Dr Retha Scholtz was quite insightful and engaging. What stoodout for me was the opportunity created for self-awareness evaluations where insightful feedback and recommendations where provided.

The Enneagram personality test and report was helpful, especially at this time of my career where internal and external awareness is required in order to manage oneself and team members accordingly. Furthermore, in cases where blind spots were reported by the enneagram results, recommendations and advices received from the coach were quiet helpful.

As we all know that the 2020 – 2021 Covid-19 period required prompt adaptability due increase in the pace of work, one tended to forget of themselves, self-care was encouraged in these sessions. Coaching sessions awarded an opportunity to discuss measures which could be put in place to function optimally at work and MBA work. In my experience the sessions were positively driven as positive self-talk was the centre of everything but also caring for others.

I acknowledge that the MBA programme is hectic but would definitely recommend the Coaching programme to currently enrolled and prospective MBA students, as it touches a lot on soft skills which may not be learned in a lecture room apart from group activities.”
